Ucka Cycling Climb in Croatia
When we say the Ucka Climb (Učka, to be exact) we are talking about probably the best climb in Croatia, that starts at sea level close to Opatja and goes up the Ucka mountain and through the National Park with the same name. It lies in the northwestern part of Croatia, namely the Istria Peninsula. The top of the mountain is called Vojak (1.396 m) and although you can’t reach it by bike you can make it almost at the top and walk the rest of the way to enjoy the most stunning view of the Istria peninsula and the Kvarner Bay.
Cycling the UCKA CLIMB
The best way to enjoy this road is to start in Opatja, one of the most beautiful and popular Croatian sea side resorts. Then head south on the coastal road to Ičići where the actual climb starts. It’s the last moment where you can have a break as the climb starts off pretty agresive.
